Junior and Senior English Assignments for the week of August 17th-20th



Monday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  Teacher will present grammar PPT, play multimedia clips to assist in the comprehension of subject matter, and have students take notes in their journal.

Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  The teacher will continue presenting the grammar PPT, playing multimedia clips to assist in the comprehension of subject matter, and have students take notes in their journal.

Wednesday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  The teacher will finish presenting the grammar PPT, playing multimedia clips to assist in the comprehension of subject matter, and have students take notes in their journal.

Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  Students will then take a grammar test utilizing the notes they took throughout the week.

Junior and Senior Assignments for the Week of August 10-13th





Monday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  Students will then present their introductory posters.

Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  The teacher will then work with the students by teaching mini lessons 6-7.

Wednesday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  The teacher will then work with the students by teaching mini lessons 8-9.

Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  The teacher will then work with the students by teaching mini lessons 10-11. JOURNALS DUE!

Welcome Back Students! Junior and Senior Assignments for the Week of August 3-6, 2015



Monday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  Teacher will then review the course Syllabus and Introduction Poster Project. The class will then watch a short motivational video and participate in a scavenger hunt to get to know their classmates.  Teacher will encourage students to bring a book to class on Tuesday to read for pleasure.

Tuesday- Students will go to the library and select a book to read for pleasure.  Students will be given 10-15 minutes to read and complete their reading log.  The teacher will then present Dr. Taylor’s writing mini lessons 1-2.

Wednesday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by writing a minimum of 200 words.  Students will help each other become master learners of lesson 1 by quizzing one another on the previous day’s starter word song.  The teacher will then work with the students by teaching mini lessons 3-6.

Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  The teacher will then work with the students by teaching mini lessons 7-9.
