Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 11R4- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures. 11W18- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 11W21-26- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 11R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. . I can examine the techniques used to create powerful arguments with in a persuasive text.Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Read East of Eden and answer corresponding comprehension questions
Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Read East of Eden and answer corresponding comprehension questions.
Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Read East of Eden and answer corresponding comprehension questions.
Thursday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Read East of Eden and answer corresponding comprehension questions.

G11.3R.C1.P03 I can interpret the concepts and ideas non-fiction text. G11.3R.C3.PO2 I can examine the techniques used to create powerful arguments with in a persuasive text.Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will write a compare and contrast essay discussing the similarities and differences in the novel and theatrical performance of The Great Gatsby.
Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will view poetry PowerPoint Presentation and will take notes. PowerPoint can be found at:

Students will then be required to write at least one poem in each poetic form defined to create a poetry book.

ALL Seniors – April 23-26
Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 12R3- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures. 12W17- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 12W22-27- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 12R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G12.2R.C1.PO3 I can support conclusions about tone drawn from a writer's word choice and imagery in a written text.
Monday- Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited
Tuesday-Students will finish, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording. All questions and summaries will be due at the conclusion of the class period.
Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Students will watch the movie The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Thursday- Students will watch the movie The Picture of Dorian Gray.
