Monday- Essays are
due!!!!
All classes will have the
opportunity to make up work from the last week due to AIMS testing.
Tuesday-
All senior classes will have the
opportunity to make up work from the last week due to AIMS testing.
Juniors- Students will complete a
CLOSE reading activity regarding lowering the drinking age. This will entail annotation of important
points, and confusions, comments, or questions.
Students will write a one page reflection depicting which side they
agree with, why the points are convincing, and also why they reject the counter
argument. Evidence must be incorporated
throughout the reflection.
Wednesday- All students will complete the journal for the first ten minutes of class. Research Reports will be explained and assigned.
Seniors will rewrite a classic fairytale utilizing a brand
new perspective. Stories must be a
minimum of 500 words, include a title page with an original title-authors name-
and illustration, 8 pages with text and quality illustrations. Project can be done in teacher approved groups of 2-3. Due Monday, March 3 at the
beginning of class.
Juniors will annotate a Los
Angeles Times editorial regarding a teen advocacy group. Students will annotate with their own
personal thoughts, questions, and comments, and write a one page reflection
incorporating their annotations and epiphanies.
Thursday- All students will complete the journal for the first ten
minutes of class.
Seniors will continue to work on
fairytale remix assignment.
Juniors will write a five
paragraph essay explaining what public advocacy is and why they publish
argumentative written works based off of the two samples they worked with
earlier in the week. Evidence from the two editorials must be incorporated to
serve as evidentiary support of their thesis.
