Seniors
Monday- Students will respond to the journal prompt
by writing a minimum of 200 words. Students will then finish watching the
theatrical presentation of Flight 93 noting the use of tone and word
choice to project the rhetoric features of ethos, pathos, and logos. Students
will then compile their notes from President Bush’s address to Congress and Flight
93 notes to compare and contrast the use of tone and word choice to project
the rhetoric features of ethos, pathos, and logos, implementing the Secret
Recipe to present textual evidence within each paragraph.
Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent
reading time for pleasure. Individually, students will read the poem, “The
Hollow Men” written by T.S. Elliot, then the teacher will read each section
aloud, pausing for student interpretation, before guiding the students’
thoughts. Students will then take notes on the analysis section presented on
Schmoop.
Wednesday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by
writing a minimum of 200 words. Students will answer the comprehension
questions regarding the poem, “The Hollow Men” utilizing textual evidence for
each question.
Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent
reading time for pleasure. As a class, students will discuss the various themes
presented within the poem, “The Hollow Men” and write a five paragraph essay
depicting three main themes, providing textual evidence for each theme.
Juniors
Monday- Students will respond to the journal prompt
by writing a minimum of 200 words. Students will complete the Macbeth Pre
reading questions in their journal. Students will then begin reading Macbeth in
class play format. The teacher will guide the reading with introspects and
discussion questions the students must write responses to and turn in.
Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent
reading time for pleasure. Students will continue reading Macbeth in class play
format. The teacher will guide the reading with introspects and discussion
questions the students must write responses to and turn in.
Wednesday- Students will respond to the journal prompt by
writing a minimum of 200 words. Students will continue reading Macbeth in
class play format. The teacher will guide the reading with introspects and
discussion questions the students must write responses to and turn in.
Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent
reading time for pleasure. Students will continue reading Macbeth in
class play format. The teacher will guide the reading with introspects and
discussion questions the students must write responses to and turn in.
