English Assignments for the Week of October 28-31, 2013


Reminder For All Classes:  Your 2500 word short story will be due Thursday, Nov. 21.  Final drafts of the stories, must be edited, typed, and turned in by Monday, Dec. 9.

Monday- All Classes, add 100 words to your creative short story the first ten minutes of class. Bus evacuations will take place today.
            Seniors- Watch the movie corresponding with the novel you just completed.  
            ALL WORK ASSOCIATED WITH THE NOVEL IS DUE TODAY!!!!

            Juniors- Students read chapter 7 of the Great Gatsby, complete 7 personal        responses in their journal, and answer all chapter questions. 


Tuesday-All Classes, add 100 words to your creative short story the first ten minutes of class.
            Seniors- Finish watching the movie corresponding with the novel you just completed.     
           
            Juniors- Juniors- Students read chapter 8 of the Great Gatsby, complete 8 personal responses in their journal, and answer all chapter questions. 

Wednesday- All Classes, add 100 words to your creative short story the first ten minutes of class. Class Periods 2-7, I will be in a training today, but will be back tomorrow!
             
            Seniors- Write analytical essays for your novel depicting the literary impact the author tried to   employ based off of our societal views and expectations.  
   
            Juniors- Juniors- Students read chapter 9 of the Great Gatsby, complete 9         personal responses in their journal, and answer all chapter questions. 

Thursday- All Classes, add 100 words to your creative short story the first ten minutes of class. 1300 word Check! Powder Puff Football Game Day!
           
ALL Classes will participate in a poetry activity centered on Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven.  Lesson specifics can be found at TeachersFirst: The Interactive Raven
