Assignments for the week of November 16, 2015



Seniors
Monday- Students will add to their 3000 word short story.  Students will synthesize notes taken on Thursday, and write an essay discussing the life events of Tupac which influenced his actions and life as a celebrity.
V-W-3: B-1: generating and organizing ideas before writing and maintain a record of ideas with support.
V-W-1 (V): B-2: differentiating between past, present, and future by responding to a prompt.
V-W-1: B-7: writing a persuasive paragraph that states a position/claim and supports arguments with evidence.

Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  Students will finish their essay.

Thursday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure.  Students will then answer the analysis questions for Flannery O’Connor’s short story, “A Good Man is Hard to Find.”

V-W-1 (V): B-2: differentiating between past, present, and future by responding to a prompt.




Juniors
Monday- Students will follow along with the audio book of the short story, “I Have No Mouth and I must Scream” by Harlan Ellison found @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMu1y_nZF5s

Tuesday- Students will be given 10-15 minutes silent reading time for pleasure. Students will watch a short movie regarding “I Have No Mouth and I must Scream” by Harlan Ellison found @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uomvyEHeKh4
And answer discussion/ analysis questions regarding the tale.

Wednesday-  As a class, students will read Flannery O’Connor’s short story, “A Good Man is Hard to Find.”
