week of 2-13-12

Juniors- February 13-16

Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 11R4- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures.  11W18- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 11W21-26- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 11R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G11.3R.C1.P03 I can interpret the concepts and ideas non-fiction text. G11.3W.C6.P01 I CAN WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER.
Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will write down their new essential questions and standard.  Continue reading Of Mice and Men and complete coinciding comprehension questions.

Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Read Of Mice and Men and complete coinciding comprehension questions.

Thursday- students will write a 5-paragraph essay regarding:

Q:  Do you feel George is a positive role model in Lennie’s Life? Why or Why not?
-Use specific quotes from the book that supports your reasoning. Include the pg # in parenthesis at the end of your quote.  “Quotation from the book” (pg.89).  This is just like a quote analysis and should be done at least once in each supporting paragraph.

ALL Seniors February 13-16

Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 12R3- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures. 12W17- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 12W22-27- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 12R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G12.2r.c2.p03 I can discover significant major literary periods of World Literature that affect history and culture.

Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will write down their new essential questions and standard.  Then the students will take notes on Literary Movement PowerPoint.

Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will finish taking notes on the Literary Movement PowerPoint.

Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Students will begin reading the novel, Dorian Gray, while listening to the audio book and following along.  Students will answer coinciding chapter questions.

Thursday- Students will read pgs. 491-498 in the Senior Lit Book and write a 250 word theme analysis using 3 direct quotes/citations to support their theme selection.


Honor Juniors- February 13-16
