Week of February 27-March 1, 2012

 

 Juniors- February 27-March 1

Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 11R4- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures.  11W18- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 11W21-26- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 11R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G11.3R.C1.P03 I can interpret the concepts and ideas non-fiction text. G11.3W.C6.P01 I CAN WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER. UW.G11.3R.C2.P01- Analyze how patterns of organization, hierarchical structures, repetition of ideas, syntax, and word choice influence the clarity and understandability of functional text.

 

Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will review varies functional text pieces and score them according to a rubric. 

Tuesday- AIMS.  Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will begin The Great Gatsby. Each day, students will be responsible for summarizing each chapter using a direct quote and proper citation in addition to answering coinciding comprehension questions designated for each chapter. 

Wednesday- AIMS.  Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will continue The Great Gatsby. Each day, students will be responsible for summarizing each chapter using a direct quote and proper citation in addition to answering coinciding comprehension questions designated for each chapter. 

Thursday- Quiz. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will continue The Great Gatsby. Each day, students will be responsible for summarizing each chapter using a direct quote and proper citation in addition to answering coinciding comprehension questions designated for each chapter. 

ALL Seniors - February 27-March 1

G12.2r.c2.p03 I can discover significant major literary periods of World Literature that affect history and culture.

Monday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Quiz. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.


Tuesday- AIMS- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.

Wednesday- AIMS- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Essential Facts Quiz. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.

Wednesday- AIMS. Essential Facts Quiz. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Continue reading East of Eden and complete coinciding comprehension questions.
