Week of 2-20


 Juniors- February 20-23

Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 11R4- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures.  11W18- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 11W21-26- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 11R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G11.3R.C1.P03 I can interpret the concepts and ideas non-fiction text. G11.3W.C6.P01 I CAN WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER.
Monday- No school

Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will be working on theme analysis. The class will read, “The Sky Tree” on pg. 51.  The teacher will then hold a class discussion on the theme and model how to write a theme analysis utilizing 3 direct quotes from the selection as evidentiary support. 


Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will be working on theme analysis. The class will read, “How the World was Made” on pg. 48.  The teacher will then hold a class discussion on the theme and again model how to write a theme analysis utilizing 3 direct quotes from the selection as evidentiary support.  Students will complete analysis on their own for assessment.

Thursday- Research Report 3 Animal Sections Due. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Quiz. 5-paragraph essay Comparing and contrasting the theme, author’s purpose, and settings of this week’s literature selections.

ALL Seniors February 20-23

Weekly: Standards and Personal Objectives: 12R3- Students will apply knowledge of organizational structures. 12W17- Students will write a multi-paragraph essay, 12W22-27- Students will apply 6-traits of writing, 12R.1.5.1 Students will read a variety of genres. G12.2r.c2.p03 I can discover significant major literary periods of World Literature that affect history and culture.

Monday- No School

Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.


Wednesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Essential Facts Quiz. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.

Thursday- Research Report 3 Animal Sections Due. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Quiz. Students will read, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” along with the audio recording and answer coinciding chapter questions as well as a summary with one direct quotation from the selection, properly cited.

Honor Juniors- February 20-23

Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will work on Book Assessment Presentation.   


Thursday- Research Report 3 Animal Sections Due. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will present Book Assessment.  Teacher will introduce new reading choice.
